John Reid came to Penn State as a four-star cornerback recruit in their 2015 recruiting class. He made an immediate impact as a true freshman, but due to an ACL tear in the spring of 2017 still took a redshirt year and spent five years on campus.

During his time as a Nittany Lion, Reid was excellent in man coverage. In 48 career games at Penn State, Reid recorded 125 tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, 7 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. He also had a vital pick-6 to spark a second half rally against Buffalo in 2019.

Reid was selected in the 4th round of this past April’s NFL Draft by former Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien and the Houston Texans. Reid has all the tools needed to step in right away and be a quality nickel corner and special teamer for the Texans.
