2022 DEFENSIVE END’S TOP 7

On Friday, four-star 2022 defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton released his top 7. Unsurprisngly, this top group included Penn State.

Dennis-Sutton is a Maryland native and attends McDonogh High School. In recent recruiting cycles McDonogh has become a bit of a pipeline for Penn State. Current Nittany Lion defenisve tackles PJ Mustipher and D’Von Ellies, as well as linebacker Curtis Jacobs are all McDonogh graduates.

Dennis-Sutton is one of the best defensive ends in the 2022 cycle. Hell, checking in as the 50th ranked player in the compsite rankings of 247Sports, he is one of the best players in the entire cycle, regardless of position. When you combine Dennis-Sutton’s ability with Penn State’s need at defensive end, hopefully, the McDonogh to Happy Valley pipeline will continue in this recruitment.

NEW OFFERS

Are you ready to feel old? Let’s feel old! Late last week, Penn State extended an offer to a 2022 wide receiver from the state of Michigan. That wide receiver’s name? Antonio Gates Jr.

Gates Jr. is a four-star prospect and he has some terrific genes. He is the son of former NFL All-Pro and future Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end Antonio Gates. Gates Jr. is shaping to be one of the top wide receiver targets in the Midwest for 2022. With Penn State’s recent recruiting success in Michigan combined with being an early offer for Gates Jr. should put them in a good position in his recruitment.

Another 2022 wide receiver to pick up an offer from the Nittany Lions this week was Cameron Miller.

Miller is a a four-star Memphis native. Penn State becomes Miller’s 12th Power 5 offer. The next step will be determining the level of interest Miller has in Penn State

Penn State also offered a four-star offensive tackle in the 2022 class. This offer went out to Kiyaunta Goodwin.

Goodwin is a native of Indianapolis. He now holds 19 Power 5 offers. In addition to the Nittany Lions, his offer list includes Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Ohio State, among others.

In 2023, Penn State offered linebacker Troy Bowles.

Bowles attends Jesuit High School in Tampa Bay. It goes without saying that his recruitment is in its infancy. Between Penn State being an early offer and JaJuan Seider’s seemingly never ending ties in the state of Florida, it would not be a surprise to see Bowles make it to campus for a visit at some point.
