Last week, we reported about rumors that Pat Freiermuth was opting out of the 2020 season. Today, in light of the report that the Big Ten will be resuming football next month, Pat himself jumped in the middle of a BTN interview with James Franklin to put the rumors to rest and confirm his commitment to suiting up in the blue and white this year.
"I never opted out. I don't know where those reports came from...I'm just excited to play football again for @PennStateFball."

While tight end is one of the deepest positions on the roster, having Freiermuth in the fold is no doubt much better than losing him earlier than anticipated. I’m not holding my breath on Micah Parsons reconsidering his opting out but, you know, 2020 folks...
