While the 2020-21 Penn State wrestling season is currently up the in the air, the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club is still hard at work.

The NLWC, which serves as the regional training center and is not run by the university, is set to host a live-streamed freestyle wrestling event on Sep. 19. The event will be streamed by Rokfin and is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET.

Former Nittany Lion national champion and Hodge Trophy winner Bo Nickal headlines the card in a matchup against former Oklahoma State national champ and Hodge Trophy winner Alex Dieringer, who currently trains at Michigan’s Cliff Keen Wrestling Club.

Also set to compete on the card are Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder, former Penn State national title winners Jason Nolf, Zain Retherford and Vincenzo Joseph, and former Lehigh national champ Darian Cruz. Cruz will take on Nittany Lion Wrestling Club member Thomas Gilman, whom he defeated in the NCAA semifinals in 2017.

The event will also feature a pair of women’s bouts as NLWC members Jane Valencia and Jessica Page square off with Lauren Louive and Desiree Zavala.

Location for the event has yet to be announced and it does not appear that spectators will be allowed. More information on the even can be found in the full press release from the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club.
