Ki-Jana Carter

No matter how old or young you are, if you’re a Penn State football fan you know who Ki-Jana Carter is. After what he accomplished during his time at Penn State in the 1990s, Carter is revered as one of the best players in the program’s long and storied history.

Carter played for the Nittany Lions from 1992 - 1994. In his three seasons with the Nittany Lions the superstar running back rushed for 2,829 yards and 34 touchdowns. He also added 20 receptions to finish his collegiate career with 3,001 yards from scrimmage.

His best season came for the undefeated 1994 Nittany Lions when he racked up 1,662 yards from scrimmage and scored 23 touchdowns. This, of course, includes his iconic touchdown run in the Rose Bowl.

With the second overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Carter. It appeared the Bengals had the new face of their franchise for the next decade. Unfortuantely, injuries would derail Carter’s NFL career before it ever got started. But that does not change the fact that Carter is one of the best, most impactful players in Penn State history.
