When Penn State fans think of the number 31 most of them will think of one of the best linebackers in the history of Lienbacker U - Paul Posluszny. Poz finished his Penn State career as a two-time All-American, Bednarik Award winner and first-team All-Big Ten performer. He also won the Butkus Award in 2005, and finished his career as Penn State’s all-time tackles leader.
Poz was also a driving force behind the resurgence of Penn State during their magical 2005 season. That season, Poz racked up 116 tackles, 11 takcles for a loss, 3 sacks, and 3 pass breakups. That was also the year he took home his first round of awards, as he helped lead the Nittany Lions to an 11-1 record, a Big Ten Championship, and a victory in the Orange Bowl.
After being selected in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft, Poz went on to finish his NFL career with 1,200+ tackles. He was also a Pro Bowl selection in 2014.
