Penn State-Wisconsin Basketball Game Postponed

Tomorrow’s game has been called off due to “health and safety concerns” by both teams.

NCAA Basketball: Minnesota at Wisconsin Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier this evening, Penn State’s athletic department announced that the basketball team’s contest against Wisconsin has been postponed due to “health and safety concerns” from both teams. The two teams were slated to tip off tomorrow (Jan. 3rd) at Noon ET at the Bryce Jordan Center. While nothing specific is cited regarding said health and safety concerns, it can be inferred that at the very least, a player or staff member on one of the teams had possible exposure to someone who had tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the press release from Penn State, the two schools will work with the Big Ten conference to figure out a date to reschedule the game. The Nittany Lions will now have to wait a few more days before returning to action when they play at Ohio State this coming Wednesday, January 6th. Tip off for that game will be at 6:30 PM ET on BTN.
