Penn State’s wide receiver room is down one scholarship player as redshirt sophomore TJ Jones entered the transfers portal, according to Lions247.
Penn State second-year WR TJ Jones is in the portal, @247Sports and @Lions247 have learned. Jones has played in eight career games. https://t.co/oxw2xUhFWl

The 6-foot-1 Jones was a late add to the 2019 recruiting class, and ended up redshirting his first season in Happy Valley. While there were hopes that he could crack the rotation in 2020, those hopes never came to fruition as Jones only played in 5 games this past season, not recording a reception in any of them.
The departure of Jones, a native of Florida, means that Penn State went 0-for-2 when it came to wide receivers in the 2019 class, as fellow 2019-signee and Florida-native John Dunmore also opted to transfer from the program. We’ll see where Jones ends up, but like Dunmore who is going to Florida Atlantic, a Group of 5 school seems most likely.
Best of luck to TJ in his future endeavors.
