Penn State Basketball Ranked 42nd In First NET Ranking

Lions in good position despite a 0-3 conference start.

NCAA Basketball: Penn State at Indiana Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Big Ten is once again getting some love in the NET rankings. The conference has 11 teams in the top 50 of the rankings, with No. 51 Indiana following right behind them. Only Michigan State and Nebraska sit outside the top 100, with the Spartans coming in at No. 119 and the Huskers sitting at 186.

Despite a 0-3 start in conference play, the Nittany Lions are well positioned to make their way into the tournament if they’re able to overcome the slow start. And, given that every game on their schedule except one (the home game against Nebraska) is either a Quadrant 1 or 2 game as of today, there’s plenty of opportunity to grab quality wins from here on out.

The Nittany Lions are back in action on Wednesday, when they’re back on the road against Ohio State.
