Jayson Oweh head his name called as the No. 30 pick of the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Oweh will be heading to Baltimore to begin his professional career.

Oweh immediately piqued fans interest with his measurables, clocking in with a hand-timed 4.28 40-yard dash. That’s blinding speed for anyone, let alone a 250 lb. defensive end. Since Oweh was didn’t even start playing football untl his junior year of high school, he took a redshirt season in 2018. He became a rotational player in 2019, and worked his way into a starting role in 2020 for the Nittany Lions. The season ended with Oweh named a First-Team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches, who recognized his impact despite not getting a sack during the nine-game season. Oweh finished fourth on the team with 38 tackles, and third on the team with 6.5 TFLs.

Oweh is an absolute athletic marvel, and while more development will be needed, he has all the physical tools to be a terrorizing force at defensive end.

Congratulations to Jayson, and all the best at the next level.
