Day by day the days tick away until we once again get to watch Penn State football.
Today marks 94 days until the Nittany Lions take the field in Madison, Wisconsin against the Badgers and, likewise, we will celebrate a former No. 94 for Penn State, Evan Schwan.
Schwan came to Happy Valley as a three-star recruit out of Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and saw the field not long after his career began.
Following a redshirt season in 2012, Schwan played in five games in 2013 and then all 13 games in 2014. He missed just one game in 2015 before becoming a starter in Penn State’s magical 2016 run to the Big Ten Championship.
In that 2016 game, Schwan was 11th in the B1G in sacks per game at .46. His play earned him a third-team All-Big Ten selection from the coaches and media as well as the Reid-Robinson award as the team’s best defensive lineman.
Schwan spent a brief stint in the NFL with the New York Giants but is currently a free agent.
