Seventy-three is today’s number, 73 as in Penn State redshirt senior center Mike Miranda.
The Stow, OH native was part of Penn State’s 2017 recruiting class as a three-star prospect. He totaled 20 total scholarship offers over his recruitment including schools such as Boston College, Iowa State, and Maryland, Missouri and Nebraska.
After redshirting his true freshman season, Miranda has gone on to appear in all of the Nittany Lions 35 games the past three seasons whether it be on special teams or the offensive line. He’s also accumulated 18 career starts including nine starts in 2020 at left guard.
In 2021, Miranda is projected to be the Nittany Lions starter at center, a position where he has not made a start yet in his career. That being said, thanks to starting at both right and left guard in his career, he will provide some versatility on the offense line if needed. Either way, whether it be at center or guard, Miranda is expected to be a leader and anchor on the offensive line.
