HIGHLIGHTS

THE TALE

After landing Noah Cain out of IMG Academy in the 2019 recruiting class, Penn State went back to the well one more time with Kaytron Allen. The Nittany Lions offered Allen in September of 2019 before a breakout sophomore season. He then remained in touch with primary recruiter Ja’Juan Seider throughout the process though Penn State remained on the perimeter of his recruitment. That was, until, he took an official visit to State College in June and the Nittany Lions stormed to the top of his list. From then off, they’ve been considered one of the top contenders in his recruitment along with a number of a SEC and Florida schools. Allen eventually made the call for the Nittany Lions on Friday, securing his spot in the class next to the recently committed Nicholas Singleton.

OUTLOOK

Saquon Barkley and Seider are the gifts that keep on giving for Penn State, as with Allen and Singleton both committed it looks like the Nittany Lions are once again headed for one of the best running back classes in the country.

Like the aforementioned Cain and Singleton, Allen is well put together and could conceivably carry the load as the lead back at some point in his career, though he likely will not need to.

In addition to his obvious power, Allen is able to change directions on a dime and gets skinny through the hole well for someone his size. He’s also a solid to above-average pass catcher that may never be split out wide regularly, but can be effective on swings and screen passes or on option routes out of the backfield.
