WEEKEND VISITORS

This past Sunday the Nittany Lions hosted a pair of 2024 quarterbacks on campus for visits. One of these two quarterbacks was Jadyn Davis.

The Fort Mill, South Carolina, native is shaping up to be one of the top quarterbacks in the East for the 2024 cycle. Davis already holds offers from Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State, among others.

The other quarterback on campus was another South Carolina native, Jaydin Bradford. During his visit, Bradford picked up an offer from the Nittany Lions.

Like Davis, Bradford appears to be on his way to being one of the top QBs in the East for 2024. While his offer list has not quite exploded the same way the offer list of Davis has early on, the Nittany Lions were his 5th Power 5 offer.

The hope is that by getting these players on campus this early in their recruitment James Franklin and Mike Yurcich can begin to cultivate a relationship with them. This could allow the Nittany Lions to be bigger players in these recruitments than you would otherwise expect them to be.

NICK SINGLETON NOW TOP RANKED RUNNING BACK

Last week 247Sports updated their 2022 rankings. Multiple Penn State commits saw major rating bumps, including defensive end Tyreese Fearbry rising more than 150 spots. He was not the only major climber for the Nittany Lions though.

Running back commit Nick Singleton was already a top 100 prospect but now he is in five-star territory. 247Sports now ranks Singleton was the top running back recruiting in the cycle, as well as the 27th overall prospect.

Each cycle 247Sports hands out a five-star ranking to their top 32 prospects. Obviously, as of now, Singleton falls into this group. If Singleton has a big season this fall as expect and keeps his lofty ranking he will finish as a five-star prospect.

TWO MORE DECISIONS LOOMING

As discussed last week the month of July has been an all-timer for the Nittany Lions on the recruiting trail. This continued on Monday when four-star cornerback Cam Miller committed to Penn State. Now, there are two more commitments looming for later this week.

On Thursday, four-star safety Cristian Driver will announce his college decisions. Right now, all signs point toward the Nittany Lions for Driver and this has been the case since the spring.

Then on Saturday three-star safety KJ Winston will announce his college decision. The Nittany Lions also appear to be the favorites for the DeMatha Catholic product. By the end of this upcoming weekend it appears the Nittany Lions will have 24 commitments in their 2022 class and that they will have one hell of a defensive back class, too.
