Only Tank Smith Until Penn State Football

Tank Smith may take the cake for best name on Penn State’s roster. There’s just something about a running back named Tank. The St. Francis transfer is also one of the first Nittany Lion players to cash in on the new NIL rules.

The ‘Tank Burger’ we all want one. We all need one.

As a redshirt freshman last season Smith appeared in two games and had one carry for 7 yards. He was also named the Developmental Squad Offensive Player of the Week following the Iowa game by the coaching staff.

Outside of mop up duty in blowouts Smith may not see the field much in 2021. That said, there are little doubts that he will continue to grow his cult hero status that is based solely on his name as the season progresses. Let’s all hope we get to see Tank rock the Lawnboyz chain after scoring a touchdown this fall.
