We continue our countdown with a player that has not yet seen the field at Penn State. Bryce Mostella committed to the Nittany Lions in July 2019 over a host of other Big Ten schools including Iowa, Michigan State, and Michigan. He was labelled as a consensus top-10 recruit in Michigan, as well as an athletic and versatile defensive end that would provide solid depth for the Nittany Lions after spending some time in the weight room. Mostella did not see any game action in 2020, but his 6’6’’ frame should enable him to see the field in 2021 after the departure of seniors Shane Simmons and Shaka Toney, and early departure Odafe Oweh. The redshirt freshman will be joined in the crowded room by classmate Zuriah Fisher, as well as upperclassmen Arnold Ebiketie, Adisa Isaac, Nick Tarburton, and Smith Vilbert. Given the defensive coaches’ penchant for rotating the defensive linemen, don’t be surprised to see Mostella on the field early in 2021.
33 days until kickoff!
