Highlights

The Tale

Jameel originally committed to Purdue last December, with Micah Shrewsberry being the point man in his recruitment. Upon Shrews’ departure to Happy Valley however, he de-committed from the Boilers, citing the current PSU head coach as the reason for his re-opening of his recruitment. It didn’t take being a detective to read the tea leaves on this one and figure out that sooner or later, Jameel was going to choose to become a Nittany Lion.

Outlook

When Pat Chambers was forced out as head coach, the PSU fanbase became deeply concerned about whether that Philly pipeline he had painstakingly built over his nearly decade-long tenure would crumble overnight. With Jameel’s commitment, it’s safe to say that Coach Shrews has assuaged those fears.

Jameel’s dual-threat ability to slash to the hoop and shoot it from downtown is reminiscent of Myreon Jones. As a combo guard, he also has the ability to run the point if necessary. No doubt, this is a huge get for the new coaching staff and he is a player you should expect to hear plenty about from the moment he steps on campus.

Welcome to Penn State, Jameel!
