The 2021 season is off to a promising start for the Nittany Lions. Penn State kicked things off with a dramatic victory in a slugfest in front of a very hostile Wisconsin crowd. Earlier today, they followed it up by stomping a Ball State team while clearing the benches - and not just a typical MAC warm-up game, but a team coming in with an eight-game win streak with 21 of 22 starters back from a season that ended in the top 25.

This now sets the stage for Penn State to become center of the college football world for week three, as College GameDay will be setting up shot in Happy Valley for the Nittany Lions clash with the Auburn Tigers.

The game will assuredly have an electric atmosphere, with it being the White Out game this season. The addition of the GameDay festivities only increases the intensity, especially since both teams heading in ranked. And, after today’s results, Penn State will be a likely top 10 team when the new AP poll is released Saturday afternoon.

This will mark the fifth consecutive year the GameDay crew has made a visit to State College, with the last visit coming when the Nittany Lions hosted the Buckeyes on Halloween night in front of an eerily empty Beaver Stadium.

Auburn comes into the season at 2-0 with two blowout victories under their belt, but not anything close to what Penn State has dealt with during the season’s first two weeks. Auburn destroyed Akron 60-10 to kick off the season, and stomped FCS Alabama State 62-10 on Saturday.

The stage is set for an incredible day and night in Happy Valley, as the Nittany Lions have the opportunity to take down a respected SEC opponent and set expectations sky high heading into October.
