(#15) Virginia Tech at West Virginia
Noon, ESPN
This game has a late-season feel with two regional rivalries squaring off. Virginia Tech is looking to continue to build toward a special season following its major upset of UNC in week one. West Virginia is one of those teams that seems to always play at the level of their opponent. This should be a hard-fought game that comes down to the very end.
Prediction: Virginia Tech-23, West Virginia-21
(#16) Coastal Carolina at Buffalo
Noon, ESPN2
There hasn’t been much standing in the way of Coastal Carolina’s quick path to become a N5 powerhouse. Buffalo has a track record of being a tenacious MAC team that can surprise an opponent. Although, last week’s 28-3 loss to Nebraska suggests they may not be primed for the home upset this time around.
Prediction: Coastal Carolina-33, Buffalo-21
(#1) Alabama at (#11) Florida
3:30 p.m., CBS
Florida has made huge strides during the past could years, but have they reached the level to have a legitimate shot at upsetting the Tide? Like pretty much any other team in the nation, I don’t expect Florida to hang on for too long.
Prediction: Alabama-38, Florida-17
USC at Washington State
3:30 p.m., FOX
Both programs have reached early-season dumpster fire status thanks to their head coaching situation. This game may not have much national relevance, but it has the chance to become wildly entertaining in one way or another.
Prediction: USC-27, Washington State-19
(#19) Arizona State at (#23) BYU
10:15 p.m., ESPN
Need some time to unwind after the Penn State-Auburn game? Switch over for the second half of another prime time battle between ranked teams. BYU surprised the Utes in the Holy War last week to jump into the rankings, while the Sun Devils will look to prove they belong in their first test of the season.
Prediction: BYU-34, Arizona St.-28
