Highlights
The Tale
Kebba Njie came on to the scene late, as the center didn’t have any division one offers until a few months ago. Coach Micah Shrewsberry and staff did not let that deter them, and now welcome Njie to the fold, as other schools start to notice his ability.
Njie came on campus a little over a week ago on his official visit, and it didn’t take long for Shrewsberry’s pitch to have its effect on the 4-star center. Per 247 Sports, Njie had this to say about his visit:
The coaches kept saying that they have something in special in store for me on the visit and that was true. The visit was great. What made them stand out to me was the balance between individual skill work and team practices. The individual workouts was something I was looking for and they showcased it phenomenally.
Outlook
With John Harrar, Jalanni White, and Greg Lee all running out of eligibility after this season, Penn State sorely needed size in its roster. Njie brings that size, defensive ability, and an improving offensive acumen that should see some action early in his career.
The addition of Njie to the four-man class puts Penn State at No. 9 in the nation. It may not end up there, but so far, it’s looking like a top 50 class in Shrewsberry’s first season as head coach.
Welcome to Penn State, Kebba!
