Following a thrilling 28-20 win on Saturday night in a White Out environment, Penn State has vaulted all the way to No. 6 in this weeks AP Poll.
The Nittany Lions are one of three Big Ten teams in the top 10 and six ranked in the top 25 in this week’s edition of the poll. Joining Penn State is Iowa at No. 5, Ohio State at No. 10, Wisconsin at No. 18, Michigan at No. 19 and, making its debut this season, Michigan State at No.20. If the rankings hold, Penn State would be set to face two top-10 ranked teams this season and six opponents inside the top 25.
In this week’s coaches poll, the Nittany Lions were ranked No. 8, a gain of four spots from last week’s No. 12 ranking.
This coming weekend, James Franklin and co. should get a bit of respite against FCS foe Villanova, though the Wildcats sit at 3-0 and look to be a contender at the FCS level this season. Kickoff is currently set for noon at Beaver Stadium.
