Two days before the football team opens its season, Penn State basketball released its non-conference schedule for the 2021-22 season. Individual games had been leaked throughout the offseason, so most of the entries here we already knew about. One entry, or lack thereof, stands out, as the Nittany Lions don’t seem to be returning to New Jersey to face Seton Hall in the back half of that home and home. Could it be that Penn State plans that return trip for next season? We shall see.
Otherwise, the games we didn’t already know about include Cornell, which the Lions will play on November 22, Wagner, which come to Bryce Jordan on December 8, Quinnipiac, on December 22, and Delaware State on December 29, before the Lions go back to the full Big Ten slate.
Not going to the Pirates in this upcoming season means the Nittany Lions’ schedule eases up a bit, as they would have had three road games plus two neutral site contests in their 11-game schedule, making for about half of the games being away from home. A 7-4 split is a lot more manageable.
