The Penn State Nittany Lions ascent in the AP Top 25 continued on Sunday afternoon as the Nittany Lions moved to No. 4 in the poll, two spots higher than their No. 6 ranking this past week. It marks the first time the Nittany Lions have been in the top four of the AP Poll since week eight of the 2017 season when they were No.2 in the country.

The Nittany Lions jumped both Oklahoma and Iowa in the process. The Sooners and Hawkeyes struggled with West Virginia and Colorado State respectively while the Nittany Lions had a solid 38-17 win over FCS opponent Villanova.
Also in the Top 25 from the Big Ten this week is Iowa at No. 5, Ohio State at No. 11, Michigan at No. 14, and Michigan State at No. 17. Additionally, Maryland received 91 votes, putting them just two spots outside the Top 25. The Terrapins will look to enter the Top 25 next week with a win over Iowa this Friday night.
In this week’s coaches poll, Penn State moved up two spots from their No. 8 ranking last week to No. 6 in the country.
With their win over Villanova, Penn State completed their non-conference schedule this season and will dive into the heart of their Big Ten schedule. They’ll look to move 2-0 in conference play on Saturday night when they welcome the Indiana Hoosiers to Beaver Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m on ABC.
