Penn State will look for victory number two of the season next Saturday afternoon against the Ball State Cardinals.
After knocking off No. 12 Wisconsin, 16-10, the Nittany Lions enter week two as 20.5-point favorites over the defending MAC Champions per Vegas Insider.
The Cardinals enter week two off the back of a 31-21 win over FCS opponent Western Illinois. Next week’s game will be the first matchup between the two programs, but the Nittany Lions are 27-3 against opponents out of the MAC all-time. Their last loss to a MAC team came in 2012 when the Bill O’Brien era of Penn State Football began with a 24-14 loss to the Ohio Bobcats. Since then, the Nittany Lions are 8-0 against the conference.
Saturday’s game at Beaver Stadium will be the Nittany Lions first home game in front of fans since November 30, 2019. On that day, Penn State defeated Rutgers 27-6. Now, 649 days later, the return of football in front of fans at Beaver Stadium is on the horizon.
Saturday’s game is currently set for a 3:30 kickoff and will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
