Ca$hing in on a life’s work?

David Culley was fired as HC of the Houston Texans this week. Before you feel bad for Mr. Culley, an obviously very smart man, please know that he was paid $17 million in his firing. Add in the $5M he made for coaching the talent hungry team to a 4-13 record in 2021, and that totals $22 million for 10 months work. Culley appeared to be liked by most of his players, the local press, and his personality seemed to be pleasant and uplifting for such a dreadful assignment. But at 66 years old and after spending a career as an NFL assistant, perhaps this windfall of cash was more for a life’s work than for a brief stint in the coveted HC office. Good for you Culley!
