Penn State (3-0) needed a statement victory to start the season after two dominating wins over Patriot League teams (Navy and Bucknell) last week. They got it against the Kansas Jayhawks (1-1), a team that is projected to get into the NCAA tournament this season and had 15 votes in the the latest AP poll.

Have the Lady Lions turned the corner? Time will tell. This is the first of a stretch of seven games against P6 opponents for Carolyn Kieger's team with a decent Big South team, Radford, in the mix as well.
