Penn State 69, St. John's 53: Lions Surge Past the Red Storm in the Big Apple

Penn State (4-0) got it's first road victory since Feb. 2022 against Michigan State tonight after a gritty victory at St. John's (1-2). This is their second win in two games against Power 6 opponents (P5 + Big East). They got their first statement win of the season on Monday against the Kansas Jayhawks, a team that is projected to get into the NCAA tournament this season and had 15 votes in the the latest AP poll.

Penn State might have turned the corner this week. There are many games left in the season, but this is arguably the Lady Lions best start since the 2013-14 season. This is the second of a stretch of seven games against P6 opponents for Carolyn Kieger's team with a decent Big South team, Radford, in the mix as well.
