Penn State is a slight favorite for their first-ever match-up with Ole Miss. The Nittany Lions opened as a 4.5 favorite when the two programs meet in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 30.

#10 Penn State and #11 Ole Miss both enter the game with 10-2 records after experiencing similar seasons. Both teams two losses came against opponents who finished in the top seven of the College Football Playoff rankings at the conclusion of the regular season, with each losing to their respective conference champion and playoff selection. Ole Miss suffered a 24-10 defeat to #4 Alabama and a 52-17 thrashing at the hands of #6 Georgia. Meanwhile, Penn State came up short against at #7 Ohio State 20-12 before falling to #1 Michigan 24-15.

This will be Penn State’s first trip to the Peach Bowl, and will have the opportunity to become the first program to win each New Year’s Six Bowl (Rose, Fiesta, Cotton, Sugar, Orange and Peach). The Peach Bowl will also mark the first-ever meeting between Penn State and Ole Miss on the gridiron.

The Peach Bowl will kick off at noon, Saturday, December 30 on ESPN.
