Another down year for PSU volleyball?

Is it another down year for Penn State volleyball? They should be reloading year after year at this point. But an early season loss to UNC doesn't give confidence for competing well in a strong Big Ten that includes Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Thoughts? (Also, this is my first Fanshot post. Woohoo! ...even though I know no one reads them...)

Penn State Men's Soccer Earns Critical Draw On The Road At No. 1 Stanford

The men's soccer team (or "Penn State Futbol" as they prefer to be called) earned themselves a scoreless draw in their season opener in Palo Alto against top-ranked Stanford. This, despite being outshot by Stanford, 17-8. With both teams scoreless after 90 minutes, the match went into two overtime periods in which neither team was able to score (despite Stanford having a couple of shots either sail over the crossbar or hit the side post), thus preserving a critical result on the road for Bob Warming's crew. PSU Futbol will stay in Cali to take on Berkeley this Sunday at 6 PM ET, which will be available on the Pac-12 Network (in case any of you reading this actually get the Pac-12 Network).

Pitt Class

Can it get worse than Rutgers? I might have to keep my 70 year old dad out of jail.

Lock Haven wrestling brings in big-time transfers

I follow Lock Haven's wrestling program pretty closely. It looks like they are heading in a great direction with two 4 time PA state champs transferring in from the OSUs. This team as the potential to be good and turn some heads. Good news for Lock Haven wrestling is good news for Pennsylvania wrestling.

Offense's Pending Explosion

I added this to the comments of Eli's article earlier but thought I'd share here too.

Penn St. professor killed over will...

I heard this news on the radio here in Houston. Such a weird and sad story, involving a will, weed and a cliff.

Carl Nassib impresses in Cleveland

Carl is having a pretty impressive pre-season in Cleveland. What do the BSD Browns fans think of his progress?

Feel Good Olympic Story Featuring a Penn Stater

Retired bus driver Ellis Hill holds portraits of his son, Olympic shot putter and Penn State graduate Darrell Hill, on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, in his home in Darby, Pa. Philadelphia-area Uber driver Ellis Hill of Darby, Pa., was resigned to watching TV coverage of his son, shot putter Darrell Hill, competing in the Olympics on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, but passenger Liz Willock of Chicago raised more than $7,500 online in two days to send the retired bus driver to Brazil, his first trip outside the U.S.

Blue Band Surprises Football Team, Players Lose their Minds

The incredible Penn State Blue Band invaded a team meeting, much to the players' delight. Is it September 3 yet??

Varner in, Molinaro out; Varner slowing down, Molinaro stepping up

Jake Varner seems to be scaling down if not stepping back from a career in international wrestling while Frank Molinaro is going to pursue wrestling full-time. Varner is going to take the volunteer coaching position on Cael's staff that Molinaro recently held. I would imagine both will remain active in the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club.
