Penn State Men's Soccer Earns Critical Draw On The Road At No. 1 Stanford
The men's soccer team (or "Penn State Futbol" as they prefer to be called) earned themselves a scoreless draw in their season opener in Palo Alto against top-ranked Stanford. This, despite being outshot by Stanford, 17-8. With both teams scoreless after 90 minutes, the match went into two overtime periods in which neither team was able to score (despite Stanford having a couple of shots either sail over the crossbar or hit the side post), thus preserving a critical result on the road for Bob Warming's crew. PSU Futbol will stay in Cali to take on Berkeley this Sunday at 6 PM ET, which will be available on the Pac-12 Network (in case any of you reading this actually get the Pac-12 Network).

Congrats to Brian, who was chosen with the 80th overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft. He'll join a club headed by the likes of Michael Bradley and Sebastian Giovinco. He's the second Penn State student-athlete to make the professional move to Toronto recently, along with hockey's Casey Bailey.

Raqui Rodriguez, Mallory Weber, Britt Eckerstrom To Enter NWSL Draft
The trio, all of whom played major roles in the Nittany Lions' National Championship victory, will be coveted by many teams. Though the mock draft universe is smaller than in other sports, Rodriguez and Weber have been predicted as anywhere from first through third rounders, and Eckerstrom will certainly catch on somewhere. All three are excellent prospects.
